Artistically
he originates from various formative experiences. Dance arrives to him
almost by chance. Relying upon his athletic ability and on his daring
and libertarian spirit, Enzo Celli transfers in dance his experiences,
thus inventing a very peculiar and unique style.
When he afterwards moved to Rome, he took up his career as contemporary
dance choreographer and in 1995 he formed his own company called Botega.
He is guest inside numerous TV programmes, among which “Uno Mattina”
(RAI UNO), “Terno Secco” (TMC), “Uno Mattina Estate” (RAI UNO),
“Laboratorio 5”(Canale 5), “ Maurizio Costanzo Show” (Canale 5), “Quando
il sole se ne va in America” (TMC), “ Svegliati ” (Match Music), and
“Hip Hop Generation” (RAI TRE).
He is the choreographer of several Specials TV “Notte sul mare” 2001,
“voci di una notte di mezza estate ” 2002, “Tazio Nuvolari” Il
Mantovano volante 2003.
He collaborates with the young author⁄singer Elisa, siding her up on
the occasion of the concert⁄spectacle “Per Elisa” (Castiglioncello
Festival) and during the “Domenica In” programme (RAI UNO).
In the summer 2003 he realises the choreographies for “I trionfi del
Petrarca” based on the original music by the composer Luciano Berio.
In 2004 he choreographed and danced as soloist, together with Carla Fracci
and Daniel Ezralow, in “Ovo, una maratona per Peter Gabriel”,
with music by Peter Gabriel.
In July 2004 he was Assistant Choreographer to Lindsay Kemp. In late summer
of that same year he choreographed and danced with Daniel Ezralow the Pas de
Deux “Pulcinella Bianco and Pulcinella Nero” produced by RAI.
In July 2005 he was one of the choreographers of the event “L'amour et son amour,
l'uomo che danza e la sua aspirazione” organized by Vittoria Ottolenghi for the Todi
Festival, where soloists as Roberto Bolle, Vladimir Derevianko and Viviana Durante
took part in. In August 2005 he was invited to join the World Youth Day in Colonia,
performing “Italyiani” in front of an audience of 70.000 people.
In June 2006 his company was invited to perform together with other special guest
dancers and companies as Alvin Ailey, Béjart Ballet, Bolshoi, Staatsballet
Berlin, at the Dance Gala “Amores” directed by Vittoria Ottolenghi.
In 2008 he was invited to teach at the Bashkir State Academy in the Republic of
Barshkortonstan (Ufa, Russia) and he collaborated with the Russian Drama Theatre.
In 2009 his company debuted at La Cigale Theatre in Paris with the performance “Subway”.
In August 2010 he presented his own version of “Giselle” at La Versiliana Festival,
achieving a great success. In winter 2010 his company was invited as guest at the
Erfurt Opera House in Germany.
In 2011 he taught dance workshops at the National Dance Academy of Rome.
In Dicember 2011 he had debuted with his new production “Fragile” at Russian Drama
Theatre of Ufa ad at Na Strastnom Theatre of Moscow.
Since October 2008 he has started to move with New York teaching contemporary dance
and performing periodically.
In September 2009 the Topaz Arts hosted him for the rehearsal of the performance Hic
et Nunc. In 2010 he was dancer guest at the Dumbo Dance Festival and at the Wave
Rising Series in New York. In January of 2011 he was invited at the Cool New York
Dance Festival.
In January 2012 with his company are guests at APAP and in that occasion he did a
Workshop at Peridance Capezio Center.
About his contaminated choreographic style, three graduation thesis were written
and discussed at the University of Rome and Bologna.
